What is a Strategic Planning System?

A strategic planning system takes into account many variables such as:
A market analysis
The strengths and weaknesses of your business
The products and services offered
The resources that are available
The goals, objectives and measures that have been established for your business, etc.

The “system” and then shows you how to develop a set of strategies and action plans – and who has so greatly increases your chance of having a sustainable, profitable long term.

At its most basic level, the strategy has four simple components:
I. Know where you want to finish
II. Knowing what to put your energy against
III. The methodology of implementation of its energy
IV. Knowing the parameters for the inevitable end game

Strategic any system that does not address all four of these elements is lacking, and may not lead to sustained success.

The main activities throughout the strategic planning system include:

Strategic Analysis – usually including the completion of any exploration or revision of its business environment – and do so on an ongoing basis.
Setting Strategic Direction – Reaching conclusions about what to do as a result of the main challenges and opportunities facing your business. These findings are in general the gains of what he wants to achieve, how you will measure progress, and the high level of the methods used to achieve the goals.

Action Planning – laying out carefully how your strategic objectives are achieved. Each objective should be associated with a tactic (s) is / are the methods needed to achieve the goal. It also includes action planning that specifies the responsibilities and timelines with each objective, or to do what and when. It should also include methods for monitoring and evaluating the plan.

Creating Reservations – Reservations are a way to help deal with the unexpected. Reservations may be time to address new opportunities, outsourcing partners to the needs, joint venture partners or affiliates, extra money, flexible work processes, etc. The point is, you have to be able to respond to events as well as plan for them. Strategy should be a road map, but allows the possibility of diversion.

Most of us entrepreneurs and business owners are “actors” and not “planners.” In a sense, be a doer is perhaps the last of a successful brand. It’s what makes us a rare breed. Rather than thinking or wishing to leave and make it happen.

In and of itself, that is fine, but it led to excessive force can quickly become a weakness. I found many small business owners who get into trouble “doing” the wrong marketing activities the right way or “doing” the right of marketing activities in the wrong way. If you want to “do” the right of the marketing activities the right way to start with a strategic plan.

If you are in the business, because we hope to have a strategy. These range from a vague sense of the wishes of the owner of the business, a large scale, overly sophisticated master plans. So the question is not whether every company needs a strategy, but rather whether his company’s strategy should be well studied, sound, sound and power to do. The answer is obvious.

A good strategic planning system helps to keep your business on the path from the-ir without the distractions that are inherent to poor planning.

Focus, accountability, realistic and what requirements are a good business planning systems to offer anyone who is considering starting or working in an online business. For success in online and offline marketing, every aspect of your business should be detailed and scheduled, in accordance with their strategic plans.

At this time of year, many companies look to the future and develop a strategic plan and / or a Business Plan for the following year (s). For many, this has become a question of looking at the latest plan and change the numbers to match the new objectives. If this is your process, you’re missing a great opportunity to build strategic thinking and planning the capacity of your organization.

If you have a team of two, twenty, two hundred thousand or two more, the strategic planning process provides multiple opportunities for the development of employees and a positive impact on the bottom line. Here are some tips for supercharger its strategic planning process and become a vital part of the success of your organization.

Create teams of pre-planning –

Letter from a team of three or four people to do advance research on industry trends, internal and external factors that may affect the future of your company both positive and negative ways. Time of beginning of their program for a presentation of the team. This not only saves time in your planning session, but occurs in the advance party of an opportunity to think and learn from the investigation.

Letter from an online audit team. The size of this team depends on the number of stakeholders to identify. A stakeholder is a person or entity that has a “game” in his success as a company. Stakeholders may include customers, suppliers, community leaders, etc. The work of this team is to interview key people to get their input on what you need in your organization and / or how they can work more effectively together. This team will have to summarize and analyze the data they collect and bring back to the planning team for use in the planning session.

Be sure to include some of their great potential non-managers of these teams to be exposed in the process and have the opportunity to think at a higher level than his work usually required.

Include the negotiation of human resources and leadership of the Unit

If you work with a bargaining unit, included in the process. Many items are easier to negotiate, when EU leaders understand the big picture and the challenges facing the organization. Similarly, EU leaders that the viewpoint of its employees to the table a unique way that can be very useful in the design of the “people” of initiatives is necessary to succeed.

Be sure to invite your Human Resources Director / Manager of the table. Many companies develop a strategic plan with numerous “people” strategies without input from the Human Resources Department. Since most of these strategies is reduced to the Human Resources Department to implement or at least an important support is in the best interest of all to incorporate your ideas and ensure that strategies are applied “as schedule. ”

Use of an outside facilitator

This may be another part of your organization or an outside consultant. Either way, your attention should focus on strategic thinking and planning. Executives who seek to facilitate their own strategic plans are like doctors trying to treat themselves. It is not the best use of your professional experience. A trained facilitator will conduct the best in each of the participants in the process, including the leader!

Include a professional in the Process of Communication

You want the document is created to be a tool used throughout the year. A professional can help simplify difficult concepts, and communicate concisely the utility. Remember, the main objective of the document to be distributed to employees to participate in the organization’s objectives.

Distribute a copy of the Plan to each employee

Make sure your first-line supervisors understand the key components of its plan and, more importantly, how they will contribute to achieving the objectives of the plan. Then it distributes copies of the plan. Research shows that employees know that he is confident most of top management. Therefore, developing a plan, but to their supervisors the information they need to explain.

Keep the Plan during the year

Include regular updates on progress towards the strategic objectives of your organization in the communication channels. Take the planning team together again once a quarter to review the plan and monitoring progress. Exhibition teams or individuals who are directly affecting the success of the communication plan in company cars. Most importantly, celebrate achievements along the way.

Use Plan

If your copy of its strategic plan the company has no dog-eared pages and coffee stains in the middle of the year, you’re not getting the maximum benefit from the plan. As a leader, who must interact with are so used to seeing you with a copy of your communication plan that, when not mentioned. And, as is their leader, you begin to notice that the education of business objectives, milestones and impacts on a more regular basis too. This is the power of the plan. Has the potential to engage people at all levels of your organization in efforts to meet business objectives.

You may be thinking, this is good for big business but I am an employer and / or my company is only a few people. How will this work for me? That really works well if you think about all those who have a “stake” in their business and participate in the process. Ask the associates, the brain, or key people that respect the creation of networks that belong to organizations for their help in building your plan. This way you not only build a plan, you build relationships that boost your success.

Strategic planning helps organizations only when it is active and practical. The strategic plan defines the business direction. That direction is based on the future vision of the company. Before an effective strategic plan can be developed and a clear vision is needed. Visions are optimistic, the ideal image of the future. The strategic plan that derives from the management team’s strategic planning is the map to that vision, and then is only effective if applied.

Strategic plans can sound intimidating and overwhelming for many small business owners. The most effective strategic plans are those that are simple, completed with the leadership team and key people within the company. Complex documents that consume excessive amounts of time to create not guarantee success. In fact, large and cumbersome strategic plan can be so overwhelming that just does not work. Strategic planning sessions that go on and on for months, also because it does not consume much time in planning and implementation, the key is ignored. The goal of the strategic plan does not produce perfect results. Instead, the team involved in strategic planning and producing a good paper is more likely to succeed.

To create your strategic plan:

Start with the vision. Write down what you envision for the future. What is the future of your business look like? What do you want for the future? Vision are inspiring stories, it’s his dream. Once you have created your vision, you can begin construction of strategies.

Vision is the destination, where you are going. The strategies are the map that leads to vision. Company values are the guide or the “compass” on our map metaphor for decision making along the way. Oriented values and maintain that alignment. When values are out of alignment of the company is off the track, not moving in the direction of vision.

Strategic objectives can be limited to the top 6-10. By having a smaller number of objectives of the plan is able to stay alive and in front of you and your computer. In vivo, this means that the plan is always where you can see, use and keep working on it. This means that the team focuses on the strategic objectives at all times, speak of them, ideas and reporting them to the other their successes and challenges.

To define strategies for their business for the first time in the vision, the different aspects of vision. Think of all targets, all strategies for every aspect of vision. With brainstorming is important that all ideas and writes them without judging or editing them. Often the best idea comes from an idea that at first glance seem too wild or crazy. Skip ideas from other ideas.

Once you have any ideas of possible targets, priorities them. Often, strategic objectives can be grouped with similar strategies. This can help in the process of setting priorities. The objective is to reduce the list to top 6-10 strategies. What are the objectives or strategies that will give your company the future that we imagine, that creates a breakthrough that will produce the results you want? These are the goals that must be the selection of priorities.

Creating a powerful strategic plan is only one of the first steps. Many organizations have strategic plans that are well conceived and elaborate. Where height is in the implementation of this plan. Implementation is key. If not executed, results are what was intended to serve.

Implementation is the result of continuous action. Strategic plans do not just happen on its own that need attention. By keeping the plan in front of you and the team plan, the focus is maintained. Regular meetings on the plan to keep the plan going in the right direction. Check-in meeting the people responsible. When teams do not meet their eyes and not in the plan, the daily interference and maintains the status quo. To make changes to achieve the results that there must be intent and commitment on the part of the team. The check-in gives the reunion of the team the opportunity to review what is happening, which is interfering with the results they want and need and make the changes necessary to change the results. Through the intention of the management, plan and equipment, workplace culture can go from one of non-performance to a performance focused.

Performance focused companies are companies that are thriving. The energy of high performance teams shifts the energy of the entire organization. Becomes more positive and contagious. People are excited about the vision, plan and implement the plan. Result of creating the energy and enthusiasm that keeps the plan in motion, is driving the plan and the final results of the company.

Organizations that produce results have a clear vision, a plan that is simple and strategic, and working on the plan all along. Their actions are designed to move the plan forward. Not let themselves or others on the road. Through strategic planning and effective by implementing the strategic plan of organizations to achieve results.
