The leader of a group of students at a fundraiser, the secondary purpose is really to raise money, the main purpose is to help these students on their way to becoming responsible adults, capable of operating independently. To function independently in the world, these students should know how the world works.

The world works absolutely nothing to do with a donation of funds. In fact, only homeless people, corrupt politicians and televangelists operate that way. The world works in capitalism, where people do not give money for nothing. They decide to use the money to buy goods or services.

In this way, begging or donating funds are clearly detrimental to the students, their families and society in general. That said, what then is the alternative for groups that must raise money?

The answer is to join a fund. Ideally this will involve the direct sale rather than pre-sales, but more importantly, the treatment of fundraising as a time to demonstrate how to teach the business world. From this basic premise may explain the small business ideas and terms such as gross profit, gross margin and cash accounting, etc. For many students, this will absolutely be your first experience with the business world or concepts therein although on a small scale. The possibility can not be ruled out however, that this foray into entrepreneurship could bring on a road in the business world.

It is thus clear that fundraising is more than making money for student organizations. They are doing what is most beneficial to students, their families and society. And to that end, the momentum is definitely out of the donation-based fund and to direct fundraising.
